Known affectionately as "The Content Wrangler," Scott Abel is the founder and chief executive officer of The Content Wrangler, a San Francisco-based content strategy consultancy that specializes in helping content-heavy global organizations improve the way they author, maintain, publish and archive their information assets. In turn, this helps them deliver the right information, to the right people, at the right time, in the right format and language, and on the device of their choosing. 

The Content Wrangler hosts content industry events including Technical Documentation RoundupContent Strategy Applied USA and Information Development World and produces The Content Wrangler Series of Content Strategy Books, a series of books, the first of which is “The Language of Content Strategy.”

Scott is also an internationally recognized content strategist and vibrant public speaker. He's frequently employed as a featured keynote presenter at content industry events like Content Marketing WorldLocalization World, Content Strategy Applied, Adobe DITA Day, Intelligent Content, Technical Communication UKTechnical Communication NZSTC SummittcWorldSDL Connect, and LavaCon. Scott co-founded the Intelligent Content Conference with content strategy guru, Ann Rockley, which they sold in 2015 to Content Marketing Institute in 2015.

Scott is a founding member of Content Management Professionals, the leader San Francisco Content Strategy Content Marketing Pros, an Associate Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication, and writes regularly for content industry publications. He was listed by eContent magazine as one of the top 50 content marketing resources on and by Brand Quarterly as one of 50 Marketing Thought Leaders Over 50
